四旬期短文——《掙扎》

下了一整天的雨，把星期五拜苦路的路程給灑得濕漉滑溜，從下午四點就開始因陰冷有了心理戰爭；去？不去？心想早上已經去過教堂參加彌撒、玫瑰經也唸了……看了鐘錶已過六時，落地窗外陰雨濛濛，有了打消前去的念頭，算了，不去了！

室內踱步頻繁心煩意躁，眼見雨靴就等擺在門邊，身上就是紫色一套，又見風衣備在椅背上，再次望了鋼琴上的擺鐘6：45～啊～我即刻想起一山園祈禱的耶穌，隨即抓起牆上吊掛的車鑰匙，衝進車庫，驅車前往教堂。

停車埸意外的滿埸，悄悄地走進教堂衹見大十字架已隨行至第二處，當晚的苦路經本已全空，心底暗悔…突然有人遞來經文和歌單，原來是晨間彌撒常見的老教友。

滿堂溫馨因有同心同意的教友來陪伴耶穌。罪衍省思、補贖念想、與決心寫在苦路手册，我等讀、唸、吟唱，在內心翻滾於十四處。知道不易杜絕許多世俗念想與誘惑，衹能求主耶穌憐憫協助。

祈禱結束起身準備離去，衹見多年不見遠道而來的老友Jolin，一時激動問她：還住山邊老地方嗎？點點頭的她也緊緊地握了我的手，我們同聲互道：耶穌愛妳！

開車回家的路上，自覺整個下午的掙扎真的很可笑，當然我知道魔鬼的誘亂是無孔不入的，也感慨老友必須繞山區小路一個多小時才能到教堂，而我衹需車程五分可及，竟然如此糾結而慚愧。

旅途中小憩 Sabbatical For The Journey

Teresa Lee A s a person always enjoy serving various ministries, It never occurs to me that one day I would choose to take a break from all ministries that I am involved with at church. I have noticed in the last few years, that I served not for God, but as a duty. This is not good, especially serving the youth at Firemark. If I don't have the enthusiasm and love for God, how am I going to bring the Gospel to others? After two years of serving the youth virtually during the Covid-19 pandemic, the core team of Firemark decided to cancel camp this year so that we can all take a break to enrich our own spiritual growth. I thought it's the right timing and good idea that I should also take a break from all the ministries that I am involved with.  As much as I enjoy altar serving and other roles at Mass, I feel there is a need to reconnect with God and spend more time in my private prayers so that I will rekindle the fire to serve God again. 加州古蹟修道院（Old Missions）之旅-序曲

    Chako       2012年，我們來到加州洛杉磯定居。       加州得天獨厚的氣候與地理環境，形成許多鬼斧神工的自然美景， 為全美擁有最多國家公園的州；此外， 在歷史人文方面更是保存了許多豐富的寶藏。 我和先生都屬於熱愛旅行的人，來到加州自然有種如魚得水的感覺。 我們常會在假日去探索南加州附近的著名景點、國家公園， 但最讓我們趨之若鶩的，是加州的21座天主教古蹟修道院（Old Missions）。 ( https://californiamissionsfoundation.org/the-california-missions/ )       對，我們就是喜歡每個修道院都去參觀的感覺！有種集點的樂趣。       於是我們開始著手尋找資料，希望深入了解這些古蹟的歷史， 並且積極安排接下來的修道院之旅。        簡單來說，Old Missions的創立始於西元1769年， 當時的西班牙國王命令海陸遠征隊從墨西哥出發，前往聖地牙哥（ San Diego）建立第一個堡壘和教堂作為前哨站。 國王派來的軍隊和方濟會傳教士來到加利福尼亞這片土地， 他們殖民這片領土之外，同時也向當地的印地安原住民傳教。 直至西元1823年，總共54年的時間， 方濟會士沿著加州海岸建立了21座修道院，南自聖地牙哥（San Diego），北至北加州的索諾瑪（Sonoma）； 其中一些地點甚至成為目前加州的重要都市，包括聖地牙哥（San Diego）、聖塔芭芭拉（Santa Barbara）、聖荷西（San Jose）、舊金山（San Francisco）等。       我們花了幾年的時間，將加州21個Old Missions全數拜訪完畢。有些教堂座落於繁華熱鬧的區域， 有些教堂的附近依然一片荒蕪， 而有些教堂已經離開天主教會的管轄， 依附在加州州立公園的保護範圍之內。       每個教堂都有她獨特的風格和故事， 大部分的修道院都有提供付費導覽的服務， 通常設有禮品部販售美麗的聖物與明信片， 讓旅客能夠將美好的回憶化作實際物品，帶回去仔...

Camino: Walk with Jesus

By April Dai   On April 2, 2022, I attended the Camino Pilgrim organized by Los Angeles Archdiocese. This is the first time LA Archdiocese had this kind of event to celebrate the 250th year of catholic faith in Los Angeles starting of San Gabriel Archangel Mission. The walk was a total of ten miles, starting from the San Gabriel Archangel Mission to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angeles.  Typically, there isn't a chance to walk around the streets within Los Angeles, so when the opportunity was presented, I took the chance to be a part of something special during this Lent away from work, as I replied yes when my friend Penny asked me if I wanted to go.   The pilgrimage began with a Mass in the morning, however prior to the pilgrimage starting, the host asked us to put an intention in this walk.
